Case Description
I have a lot of gum problems but should a full ARRESTIN treatment be 80 units at $25 each for a total of $2000 in Arrestin?

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:

Arrestin, in my practice, is only used following scale and root planing. Following 4-6 weeks after sc/rp appointments, all pockets are revaluated and those that are of 5-6mm that have not responded will receive site specific applications of arrestin. 7mm or greater most likely need further attention.

I'm overly concerned that someone would recommend 80 units of arrestin. I undoubtedly would seek a 2nd opinion. I would also check the literature to see what the proper dosage LIMITS are!

This in my opinion is excessive even with the limited information provided. Good Luck

Absolutley NOT!! I am a Periodontist--and if you have a case of Aggressive Periodontitis--which woiuld probalby need at least 25 sites treated, yoiu can take a coiurse of Doxycycline, 100mg caps one cap daily for 21 days and get the same effect--if not better. Cost of this is about $15 for the Rx.
